Is the Johnson Street Bridge still broken?

It stuck for 38 minutes on May 3. The control-system replacement commissions in July.

The bridge has stuck open three times since the start of 2024. The most recent was May 3, 2026 — a heat-related sensor fault that pinned the deck up for 38 minutes during the Saturday morning rush. The City is part-way through a full control-system replacement; commissioning is scheduled for July 2026. Whether that ends the run of failures is the question.
