An easy guide to listening to the Capital Daily Podcast

Hi! It’s me, Jackie Lamport. If you don’t know me that well, this is a great page for you to have landed on. I’m the host of the Capital Daily Podcast. If you read our newsletter, you’ll know that every day from Monday to Friday we post a new episode of our show.

Podcasts are still quite new, especially in the mainstream. So I thought it would be a good idea to start by explaining what exactly they are.

To start, imagine a radio. Now imagine a radio program. Now imagine a radio program, but the audio quality is better and it's produced like a little documentary, specifically about what’s going on in your community. I think you’ve got it now.

Our daily episodes range from municipal debates in your area, to deep dives into the biggest stories happening here, to unique yarns you won’t hear anywhere else.

So how do you listen?

The Easiest Way

If you have a Google Home or an Amazon Alexa, you’re in luck. This means you can access the podcast in the easiest way possible: All you have to do is say one of these phrases: “Hey Google, play the latest episode of the Capital Daily Podcast” or “Hey Alexa, play the latest episode of the Capital Daily Podcast,” depending on whether your device is Google or Amazon. For Apple HomePod, ask Siri the same thing.

How To Listen On Your Computer

If you prefer to listen on your computer, just go to www.CapitalDaily.ca/Podcast and press play! You can also scroll through and pick any of our recent episodes that call to you.

How To Listen On Your Phone

There are a lot of different apps that you can use, depending on what kind of phone you have, but for the sake of simplicity I’m going to stick to the big three.

We’ll start with iPhone listeners.

On your iPhone, search “podcasts” and click on the purple app icon that shows up. This app comes standard on iPhones.

Once you’re in the app, search “Capital Daily” and click on our image.

Then press play! From here you can also scroll through all of our past episodes and choose which ones you want to listen to.

For Android phones, search “podcasts” in the Google Play store. Download and open the Google Podcasts app.

Open the app, and in the search bar type “Capital Daily”.

Click on us!

You can also find us on Spotify—if you already have and use the app, all you have to do is search “Capital Daily” on the search page.

Click on us and listen!
